Pure Patch Mouth Tape: one 30-piece pouch.

Pure Patch Mouth Tape is a soft, rectangular strip with rounded corners, designed to help keep your lips gently closed during sleep. It fits into a bedtime routine as a physical mouth accessory, with no Sleep Patch ingredients. Start with clean, dry skin, place one strip horizontally over gently closed lips and remove it gently in the morning.

The details that matter are the shape, where it sits and how it feels when applied. Here is how to prepare the area and understand the difference between Mouth Tape, Nose Strips and our ingredient-containing Sleep Patch.

What shape is Pure Patch Mouth Tape?

Pure Patch Mouth Tape is a horizontal rectangle with rounded corners. The current strip measures 76 mm wide by 38 mm high and uses flexible black fabric with the Pure Patch wordmark.

Position the tape horizontally over gently closed lips. Keep your nose and nostrils clear and check that you can breathe comfortably through your nose before applying it.

How to apply Pure Patch Mouth Tape

  1. Prepare the area. Clean and dry the skin around your mouth. Make sure the area where the adhesive will sit is dry before applying the tape.
  2. Gently close your lips. You should already be able to breathe comfortably through your nose. Do not use the tape to force nasal breathing when your nose is blocked.
  3. Peel away the backing. Hold the tape by its edges as you separate it from the backing.
  4. Position the tape. Place it horizontally over gently closed lips; keep your nose and nostrils clear.
  5. Check the fit. The tape should feel comfortable. Remove it immediately if it causes breathing difficulty, anxiety, pain or irritation.

What if Mouth Tape will not stick?

First check the preparation and position: is the skin dry, is the tape centered horizontally over closed lips, and is the adhesive sitting against the intended area? Pay attention to lip balm, face products or moisture where the adhesive needs to make contact.

Do not layer on additional tape to fix a loose fit. If your Pure Patch piece will not sit comfortably or stay in the intended position, contact Pure Patch with the product details so we can help with its fit.

How to remove Mouth Tape in the morning

Remove the tape gently in the morning. Peel it back slowly from an edge instead of pulling it away quickly. If the skin becomes irritated, stop using the product and let the area recover.

How Mouth Tape differs from Nose Strips and Sleep Patch

Mouth Tape acts at the lips. Its role is to help keep them gently closed. Nose Strips act at the outside of the nose. Their flexible bands lift the sides of the nose to support airflow. Pure Patch Sleep Patch is a separate formula. It contains magnesium glycinate, L-theanine, apigenin, GABA, CoQ10 and black pepper extract, and is worn on the skin away from the mouth.

These products have different jobs and instructions. Read Mouth Tape vs Nose Strips for the accessory comparison, or explore the melatonin-free Sleep Patch formula.

When should you skip mouth tape?

Mouth taping is not suitable for everyone. Do not use it when you cannot breathe comfortably through your nose or after alcohol or sedatives. Seek individual advice before trying it if a blocked nose or a sleep-related breathing problem is causing mouth breathing. Cleveland Clinic explains the suitability concerns.

Common questions about Pure Patch Mouth Tape

Does Mouth Tape stop snoring?

Snoring can have different causes. Keeping the lips closed does not address all of them, and research on mouth taping is limited. Frequent loud snoring, gasping or pauses in breathing need assessment. NHLBI’s sleep apnea symptoms explain those signs.

Does a Nose Strip make mouth taping suitable?

A Nose Strip supports airflow at the nose, but does not establish that Mouth Tape is right for you. Each product has its own purpose, fit and directions.

How many pieces are in a pouch?

Each Pure Patch Mouth Tape pouch contains 30 pieces. Larger supply options combine multiple pouches. The count refers to Mouth Tape pieces, separate from the ingredient patches.
