Pure Patch Nose Strips are drug-free adhesive strips worn across the outside of your nose. Flexible spring bands gently lift its sides to support nasal airflow. To apply one, clean and dry your nose, peel away the backing, center the strip across the bridge, and press down both ends.

Correct placement is the practical starting point. This guide focuses on applying and wearing Pure Patch Nose Strips; our separate guide to how nasal strips work explains the mechanism and research.

How to apply Pure Patch Nose Strips

  1. Clean and dry your nose. Prepare the skin where the strip will sit before removing its backing.
  2. Peel off the backing. Hold the strip by its edges as you separate it from the backing.
  3. Center the strip across the bridge of your nose. Keep both ends level and resting against the sides of your nose.
  4. Press the ends down firmly. Both ends should sit securely against the skin.

The strip sits on the outside of the nose. Nothing is inserted into the nostrils, and the strip does not cover your mouth.

What should a comfortable fit feel like?

The strip should sit securely while its flexible bands provide a gentle outward lift. Placement should not require putting up with pain or skin irritation. If either occurs, remove the strip and stop using it.

If an end will not stay down, review the application steps: clean and dry skin, a centered strip, and both ends pressed firmly. Check for moisturizer, oil or moisture in the contact area. Both ends need to sit against the skin so the flexible bands can do their job. If the strip still will not sit securely, contact Pure Patch for help with fit.

How can you check Nose Strip placement?

Look for a centered strip with both ends sitting against the sides of the nose. Keep the strip centered and both nostrils clear. The strip works by lifting externally; putting it inside a nostril or across the mouth changes the placement completely.

When checking the fit, separate two questions: is the adhesive making contact, and is the strip in the intended position? A firmly attached strip can still be placed incorrectly. Check that the center crosses the bridge and both ends rest against the sides of your nose.

When can you wear Nose Strips?

Pure Patch offers Nose Strips for sleep, workouts, and daily routines. The same mechanical support applies wherever you use them: the strip lifts at the nose instead of delivering a decongestant medication.

Remove the strip gently by slowly loosening each end. Use a fresh strip for the next application.

Common questions about placement and use

Are nose strips and nasal strips the same thing?

“Nasal strips” is the general name for this type of external breathing accessory. Pure Patch calls its product Nose Strips. Both names describe a strip worn outside the nose.

Do Pure Patch Nose Strips contain medication?

No. They use flexible spring bands to support airflow mechanically. There is no decongestant medication in the strip.

Do I need Mouth Tape as well?

No. Nose Strips can be used as a separate accessory. Mouth Tape acts at the lips and has different suitability considerations. Read Mouth Tape vs. Nose Strips before considering both.

Can a Nose Strip replace sleep apnea treatment?

No. Do not replace CPAP or another prescribed treatment with a nasal strip. Supporting airflow at the nose is different from treating sleep apnea. NHLBI explains the established treatment options.

How many Nose Strips are in a pouch?

A Pure Patch pouch contains 30 Nose Strips. Larger supply options combine multiple 30-strip pouches. These are accessory strips, separate from the ingredient-containing Sleep Patch.
